Abstract

This research aims to analyze the regulation of Halal Product Assurance in Indonesia from the perspective of legal sociology. The background of the research stems from the increasing global halal trend that drives the expansion of the halal industry and the Muslim community's need for product halal assurance. The research uses normative legal research methods with a legislative approach and a conceptual approach. Data were obtained thru a literature study of regulations, scientific literature, and related documents. The research results show that the enactment of Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance is the state's response to the growing need for a halal ecosystem within society. Furthermore, this research emphasizes that the effectiveness of halal regulation implementation is greatly influenced by the alignment between legal substance, institutional frameworks, and the level of public awareness.
