Journal License: "The Journal of Law, Society, and Religion"

"The Journal of Law, Society, and Religion" is committed to the widespread dissemination of scholarly research and operates under an Open Access model. To facilitate the broadest possible use and impact of the published content, all articles are licensed under an internationally recognized open license.


Copyright and Licensing

  1. Copyright Retention by Authors: Authors submitting their work to "The Journal of Law, Society, and Religion" retain the copyright to their articles. This means authors hold the exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, perform, display, and create derivative works from their articles.
  2. First Publication Right: Authors grant "The Journal of Law, Society, and Religion" the first publication right for their submitted and accepted manuscripts. This permission allows the journal to be the first to publish the article and to identify itself as the original publisher.
  3. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0): All articles published in "The Journal of Law, Society, and Religion" are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
    • This license is a highly permissive open license that enables the maximum dissemination and use of published works.

Author Agreement

By submitting a manuscript to "The Journal of Law, Society, and Religion," authors agree to have their article licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) upon acceptance and publication. This agreement will be formalized through a separate Copyright Transfer/License Agreement upon acceptance of the manuscript
