About the Journal

al-ABSAH: Journal of Civilization, Language, Literature, and History is a journal that accommodates student work and is managed by student organization of the Faculty of Adab and Language UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The Scope of this journal are  Islamic Civilization, Islamic Culture, Language, Literature, and History Studies. 

 

Focus and Scope

Al-ABSAH: Journal of Adab, Bahasa, Sastra, dan Sejarah aims to provide a scholarly platform for the publication of research articles related to the fields of adab, language, literature, and history. This journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies that explore these areas from various perspectives within language studies, literary studies, and studies of adab and Islamic culture.

The journal is committed to advancing academic discourse by publishing original research that contributes to the development of knowledge in both theoretical and applied contexts. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  • Studies on adab (ethics, culture, and Islamic intellectual traditions) and its development
  • Linguistic studies, including applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, and language education
  • Literary studies covering analysis, criticism, and the development of classical and modern literature
  • Historical studies, particularly in cultural, social, and intellectual history
  • Interdisciplinary research connecting language, literature, adab, and history
  • Teaching and learning strategies in language, literature, and adab-related studies

Through this scope, Al-ABSAH seeks to encourage innovative and critical research that contributes to the enrichment of scholarship in language, literature, adab, and historical studies at both national and international levels.

All parties engaged in the publication process authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and affiliated institutions are expected to adhere to established ethical standards. These principles are essential to ensure the integrity, transparency, and sustainability of scholarly communication.

The publisher of Al-ABSAH Journal is committed to maintaining high ethical standards throughout the publication process. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial interests, advertisements, or external pressures.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal. Their responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that submitted manuscripts align with the journal’s scope in adab, language, literature, and historical studies.
  • Making impartial and objective decisions based on academic merit without discrimination.
  • Upholding confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Peer reviewers contribute significantly to the quality control of the journal. Their responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the originality, methodological rigor, and scholarly relevance of the work.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of the manuscript and review process.
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest and declining review assignments when necessary.
  • Offering clear suggestions to help authors refine and improve their manuscripts.
  • Re-evaluating revised manuscripts when requested by the editor.
  • Ensuring that ethical considerations, particularly in historical and cultural analysis, are properly addressed.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. Their responsibilities include:

  • Submitting original work that has not been published or is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Ensuring proper acknowledgment of sources, references, and funding support.
  • Listing only those who have significantly contributed as authors.
  • Taking collective responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the research, including data, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Clearly stating research limitations where applicable.
  • Responding to reviewer comments professionally and revising the manuscript accordingly.
  • Informing the editor promptly if significant errors are discovered or if the manuscript needs to be withdrawn.
  • Avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, or any form of academic misconduct
